Beautifully illustrated with controlled language, these books are ideal as a child’s first experience of reading English at home or in the book corner at school. The lively stories and pictures are set mainly in rural and urban African settings, and deal with the immediate world of young children (e.g. the home, school, the local community). The stories cover themes and topics that children are likely to encounter and have developed in line with recommended syllabuses.
